True North Strong and (Tariff) Free
Hello Blog readers!
It is Whiskey Wednesday once again.
This week’s Blog is a follow up to #11(last week).
We have finally managed to get all of the ducks in a row, and they are standing at attention!
We moved all of the liquor several months ago, but did not have a Sales Agreement with the Province for the new location until recently. There had to be a review. So we had our review, and we passed! We also had to have Inspectors Inspect, and Permit Officers Permit, Fire Marshals Approve, etc etc. You get the idea.
In the midst of all of this, the Town of Qualicum Beach had to finish some upgrades to service for the area development (that our new digs are part of…) and so they tore up the sidewalk, the road and the drains to replace/repair/upgrade and fix. It was a trip! Now we have new cables and power and access to services like Internet etc. In addition, we also have a brand new road, a lovely (hand laid) brick sidewalk, gorgeous new trees, new lamp posts complete with hangers for planters and banners as well. It is becoming lovely at a rapid rate.
The last thing we are hoping for (soon!) is to have the railing installed between the sidewalk and the patio outside our space! I really think it will be better for walk in sales to have the yellow DANGER tape removed from the front access!
Despite the danger tape, we are getting some walk by traffic, and some new customers who have their faves amongst our bottles. Sadly, we are running low on our Award Winning Artisanal Rums. When they are gone, they are gone for the foreseeable future. Growing Sugar Cane is hard! Our neighbours are fantastic, we are right next to a Brewery and Restaurant called Fern & Cedar. Waiting with tingles of anticipation for our last business to move in. Meat Craft Butchers is opening up next to us as well.
I think this is going to be a very busy summer.
